New Metric Type: Percentiles

Get deeper insights into user behavior and system performance with our new Percentile metrics feature.

Percentile or quantile metrics are used to answer two classes of questions:

  1. Performance optimization, such as page load time. Percentile metrics allow you to measure p75 (the 75th percentile), p90, p95, or any other percentile of page load time.
  2. Measuring impact on one particular part of the distribution, often the “typical” (median) user. Engagement metrics such as Number of items viewed are often highly skewed. Lifts in the average number of items viewed will be heavily driven by power users who already view many items. The goal instead is to get typical users to view more items. This can be measured by using p50 (aka the median) of the metric.

Get Started in 3 Steps

  1. Go to Metrics → "Create Metric"
  2. Select "Percentile" type
  3. Choose your percentile threshold
