Feature Flag updates: SDK tags and Dependent flags

Introducing two major feature updates to how Feature Flags work in Eppo that are available to all customers with Feature Flags.

SDK tags

Tags allow you to organize your flags in the Eppo UI, but SDK tags include an additional benefit.
Eppo creates a configuration file for the client, but when your program is using hundreds of flags across multiple applications, there may be a concern that you're unnecessarily increasing the size of the configuration file. SDK tags allow you to indicate which flags you'd like to include in the configuration file, reducing each the configuration file size.

Get started by creating tags in admin and then applying them to SDKs and flags. Learn more about how to use SDK tags here

Dependent flags

There are times when you want your flag targeting rules driven by what the user experienced with other flags.

For example, if you have a new UI you're rolling out, you may want to continue releasing features that are only applicable to users who saw this UI revamp. Only users who are enabled for the new UI should also be enrolled in this new flag.

In Eppo, this is now extremely easy with a new type of targeting rule for Dependent Flags. Just select Dependent Flag, the applicable flag, and the value(s) of the flag variations. Flags and their values will all be pre-populated for you in the UI.
